The Quiet Age

"Why are you crying
by the green waters
Of the Thames?
Was it the weeping willows
That inspired you so?
The blue-grey skies?

You're not sure, are you,
where the waters start
And end."

The Quiet Age is a collection of poems I wrote while commuting during a period of my life when I had little other spare time in my day (the illustrations were done later). The Quiet Age is personal, but not closely so - the poems are reflections, in both sense of the word, and are both closer and more distant to me than my usual zines are. More distant because they are not directly about me, closer because, in quietness, in poetry, there are parts of yourself you cannot hide.
